AAUW Buffalo Branch Membership Benefits

In principle and practice AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership.There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class. AAUW, founded in 1881, is open to all graduates who hold an associate, equivalent or higher degree from an accredited college or university. Those who do not hold a bachelor's degree can affiliate as Friends of the Buffalo Branch, and undergraduates may become Student Affiliates. AAUW is the oldest and largest national organization working for equity for women and girls, life-long education, and positive societal change.

The AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education, research, and self-development for women. AAUW's Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for AAUW women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) promotes equity for all women and girls, life-long education, and positive societal change. Level of commitment is up to the individual. Members may participate in as many interest groups or projects as they have time for, and opportunities for leadership abound.
